I forget...which wire is the tach??

i know my std civic is prewired for a tach and i have an aftermarket tach. i want to hook it up to the pre wired wire, instead of reunning a wire al the way to my dizzy... isnt it the solid blue wire on the right side of the cluster?

yeah, it's the blue wire from what I know.

I have an STD as well and I'm planning on replacing the gauge cluster with that of an Si (I need that tach!). Speaking of which, anyone know if the cluster from an 88-89 will fit in a 90-91 civic?

with wiring changes and the 88-89 cluster hood it will fit. see other posts for more info.
